You need to learn to distinguish eggs from healthy chickens, and we will help you with it.

These chickens are fed grains, and they also eat grass insects, like grasshoppers, crickets, spiders, and ticks, and due to this, these seed are full of nutrients.

Benefits How to Do Lion Pose Simhasana and Its Variations

At first glance, Lion Pose can seem a bit unusual. A crouch position, tongue protruding out the mouth, and eyes rolled backnot exactly what you typically think of when envisioning yoga.

Simhasana actually looks more like a pose you would strike in front of the camera when someone shouts “funny face pic!” but alas, the free-spirited pose is a refreshing reminder to not take yourself too seriously and to keep your yoga perform light-hearted. In fact, every time I’ve practiced this pose in a studio setting, a soft chuckle always ensues and spreads transversely the room. It feels good, it looks funny, and overall awakens our inner child.
Etymology & Benefits

From the Sanskrit word Simhasana, Lion Pose mimic the bold stance of the king of the jungle and evokes the lively spirit of the animal. The pose combines both asana (physical posture) and pranayama (breath work) to produce a roaring deep lungful during the peak of Lion Pose.

In addition, the posture has many reimbursement. Because the pose offers an airy reprieve from a sometimes rigorous practice (and life), Lion Pose helps release tension and reduce stress. Physically, the pose opens the throat, jaw, and neck which can help with jaw/neck pain and stimulate the throat chakra. It also stretch the face muscles and the chest.

On the emotional side, the stupidity of the pose can help boost confidence as the pose teaches to let go of what others think. Read on to learn how to do Lion pose as well as different ways to change it up.

How to Do Lion Pose

Begin in Hero Pose (Virasana) seat on the shins with knees together and big toes touching. Sit back onto the heels and elongate through the torso.
Bring the palms to the knees.
Inhale slowly as you again grow longer from the tailbone to the crown of the head.
Here comes the fun part, the exhalation for Lion’s Breath! As you exhale deeply, do the following:
  Spread the fingers (claws) wide.
Open the mouth wide, stick the tongue out and down with the tip reaching for your chin.
Reach the eyebrows up and gaze up towards the third eye (space between eyebrows).
Prevent slouching by expansion through the chest and drawing the shoulders back and down away from the ears.
The exhale should be audible as you make a roar with a “haaaa” sound, emptying your breath.
On the next inhale, bring the face back to neutral, relaxing the neck, chest, and hands.
Repeat for at least 8 rounds of breath.
Lion Pose may be painful for those with knee or ankle problems. Be mindful when entering and exiting the posture and use modifications when necessary.

Modifications & Variations

If you have knee issues, try placing a folded blanket on the back of the calves at the knee crease. Creating this extra space be supposed to make the seat of the pose more accessible and safe.

Another option is to take a variation of the seated part of the pose. You can pretty much practice Lion’s Breath (the breath work with facial look detailed above) in any pose. For ease try bringing your seat into Easy Pose (Sukhasana) and then use Lion’s Breath. A few favorite variations include using Lion’s Breath with Lotus legs, in Goddess Pose, and with Cat/Cow.

With the latter, you’ll reverse the typical breath that’s practiced, so instead, inhale as you tuck into Cat Pose. And as your feline transition into Cow, release your roar with fearless exhale.

When practicing animated Lion Pose, have fun and express yourself! The pose can open your practice to new levels of transformation physically, spiritually, emotionally, and spiritually. Keep it light but whole-hearted, unleashing the courage within with powerful and cleansing breath work. So take the leap and give it a go!

Benefits Why I Don’t Roll Up from a Standing Forward Fold

Your lovely yoga teacher has the whole class in a standing forward fold and says, “now, roll up to standing, vertebrae by vertebrae, with refinement and ease.” Have you followed these instructions and tried it? If you are a educator, have you taught this?

I used to do and teach this too. However, I don’t anymore because doing this led to me hurting myself (more on that later). Now, as a yoga therapist, I don’t teach this since it’s not a functional movement.
What do I mean by functional movements?

efficient movement involves moving in a way that is based on your real-world movement needs. This may include walking up the stairs, taking out the trash, receiving down on the floor to play with our kids or grandkids (and then picking them up), driving to yoga, or reaching to the top shelf to obtain the salsa and chips.

This list may seem silly to some, but if you have ever been limited by any of these, or know anyone that has, you appreciate how important such activities can be for sovereignty, empowerment, and meeting in the world.

Not all yoga is functionally-based. (Note: traditional yoga wasn’t meant for preparing people for practical real-world activities. On a basic level, yoga was urban for young, male monks. Unless you are a monk, I propose that your yoga practice might need to be a bit adapted for your modern body and lifestyle. However, that is a whole piece of writing in itself.

Some yoga move may have made their way from the dance or sports world, with no intention of conditioning our bodies and minds for practical needs of living in the world. One of the best examples of this is the common cue of rolling up to standing from a reputation forward fold.

Why I Don’t Roll Up From Standing Folds Anymore

roll up standing forward fold

This in all probability made its way from dance-trained yoga teachers. If you have a healthy back with no pain, arthritis, or disc issues, this may be fine (although I still don’t recommend it). However, it is a high risk pose for much of the inhabitants with the potential to cause a sudden injury like a herniated disc or intense spasm. It is not functional and, in many ways, does not encourage long-term back health.

We have probably all been told that when we pick up impressive heavy, we should bend from the knees and hips and not round into the back. I believe that our yoga practice should reinforcenot conflict with such recommendation, which are developed from an understanding of biomechanics and how the body functions.

I used to perform rolling up to standing in yoga classes because, hey, it feels graceful and the teacher said it was good for me. However, it clearly trained me to have poor body mechanics. Once, I bent over to pick up the trash, pulled a muscle, and had a back spasm that dropped me to the floor. It took weeks to fully recover. I had never had anything like this happen to me and I realized it was because of the way I was neurologically programing my movement patterns in yoga class. What we practice in yoga is indeed commanding

Now, after learning my lesson the hard way, I teach and practice coming up from a standing forward fold by hinging from the hips with an engaged core, long spine, and a (at least) slightly flexed knees.

An Alternative Method to Rolling Up

Try this method I have urbanized with the intention to neurologically program the mind and body towards defaulting to functional movement pattern:

From a standing advance fold, try bending the knees a little bit or quite a bit. Find the amount of bend in your knees that reduces pull in the back of your body.

Bring the hands to your hips. Engage your core beneath your hands (we are aiming to particularly activate the transverse abdominals, aka the “anatomical corset” and the pelvic floor). This should also help bring the spine into neutral, connotation that the low back is slightly curved into its natural position.

Keep your backbone long (and feel free to bend the knees more if needed) as you inhale to lift up to standing, leading with the back of your cranium.

Store Lemons Without Losing Any Juice

If your spirit animal is Titus Andromedon or Beyonce, you love lemonade. However, you cannot make lemonade with hard lemons. Lemons are a great fruit that make astounding beverages, taste great in food, work as beauty products, and can spotless your apartment but you have got to use them as fast as possible. I have always desirable a lesson on how to store lemons as I can by no means use them as quickly as I need to.

How to store lemons is dependent on how they are cut, so here is the how-to on preserve lemons when they are whole versus when they are cut.

According to the Kitchn, storing lemons in a basin in your kitchen is actually the worst place to store them. This is because they will only last a week in the open air. Their fix? Place your lemons in a zip lock bag, squish the air out, and amass it in the fridge. This will remain your lemons full of juice for weeks.

Storing Cut Lemons

Lemons so as to are cut is a similar process that I learned from my mom. The major goal here is to keep air away from the lemon, especially when they are cut. The best way to do this is to take plastic wrap and wrap them around the lemon slices. Then, to utilize the tip from the Kitchen again, take those pieces and keep them in a baggie in the fridge. Once they are cut though, do try to use them in a appropriate manner.

Using these tricks will help remain your lemons fresh and juicy for when you are wanting lemonade. How to store lemons is not a hard trick to learn. You can also apply these same tricks for limes and other citrus fruits. Now go grasp some lemons, put on a fair dress, and sip on a little lemonade.

Tips Indulge Without Going Overboard

There’s something about December that make us want to dive into sangrias, chocolate cakes and cinnamon swirls. It probably has something to do with the fact that enticement levels soar in this last month of the year what with endless parties, weddings and cocktail evenings. We’re not saying you should lock yourself in a cave, but here are six diet mistake to avoid so that you stay svelte and sexy till the end of the gathering season. Don’t save up your calories Trying to be virtuous and skipping lunch before a big twilight do might seem like a good idea but it will rebound on you. The hungrier you are the lower your self-control and the more expected you are to binge eat every fatty snack in sight the minute you hit the revelry.

Instead eat in good physical shape through the day and include protein and fiber rich snacks like cottage cheese or hummus and veggie sticks. This way you can actually peck daintily at the wares on put on show later. Don’t eat the cookies just because they’re there Who can resist chocolate, pies, cakes and cookies? But just because you’re neck deep in these carb rich treats doesn’t mean you should gobble them up. retain in sequence your calories should be worth it, so take a trial bite and indulge only if that brown cake is really too divine to resist, not because it happens to be there. Once you’ve made up your mind to indulge, don’t feel guilty.

Enjoy what you eat and plan how you’re going to work it off later. Wait a while study show that it takes a minimum 20 minutes for your brain to signal that your tummy is full. So if you launch full tilt into a plate of fried chicken or spring rolls, chances are you’re going to over eat till you feel like you’re going to blow up because your body hasn’t had time to register you’re full.  So start savouring your meal, take small bits, chew thoroughly and enjoy the conversation. Finish what’s on your plate, take a few record and only then head to the buffet table if you’re still response hungry.

Alternate stuck between alcohol and water We live in an instant world and there’s always this compulsion to glug down alcohol till you feel the buzz. But often it’s too late and you end up consumption way more than you should (alcohol dulls the food center in your brain) and end up with an awful hangover the next morning. blinking each glass of lively with a glass of water will not just make you last longer, it’ll keep you full so you won’t over-do cheesy dips and desserts. Another plus: you’ll consume fewer alcohol calories; a glass of wine has about 120 calories.

Don’t skimp on sleep No getting enough zs can mess with your metabolism, hold up on the pounds.   It’s not a myth! Levels of Ghrelin the hormone that tells you when you’re hungry increases when you don’t get enough sleep while Leptin the hormone that restrain appetite, decrease. Aim to get seven to eight hours of shut eye every night to stay slim and make healthy food choice.

Don’t skip your workout (too often) Between all the late nights, work and partying, probability are the first thing to get sacrificed is your a.m. exercises routine. And once that discipline goes, you’re more likely to browse, throw in the towel and resign yourself to becoming a couch potato. This is the time to move more than ever! Especially since you’re going to be consuming more calories than you would in the non-holiday season. So even if it’s just a 30-minute workout, be diligent about fitting it in every possibility you can.

Tweak: Ditch artificial sweeteners

So you think ditch the white stuff for an artificial sweetener like Splenda or Sweet-and-Low to placate your taste buds is a high quality idea? People believe that artificial sweeteners are great since they provide sweetness minus the calories. What they don’t realize is that these sweeteners are 600 times sweeter than sugar and can grounds craving for intensely sweet foods all day, says nutritionist Naini Setalvad. Besides, current research suggests that Sucralose, the chemical that gives Splenda and Sugar Free Natura its sweetness, can mess with the body’s insulin response. Solution: Switch to a fibre-rich lovable fruit like an apple or pear to go with your coffee. Not immediately will it satisfy your sugary tooth, it will keep you full for hours so you won’t be tempt to mindlessly graze.

Tweak: Get the right amount of sleep

We all know what it’s like to feel fuzzy eyed. There’s enough been said about the importance of receiving enough sleep. As general physician Dr. Raveena Shah says, “Getting enough sleep is linked to everything on or after serotonin manufacture and blood sugar balance to immunity, and heart health.” It’s only whilst we sleep that our bodies repair and recharge themselves. Ideally, you be supposed to aim for seven hours every night, although some people may need more. Trial and error is the best way to outline out how much sleep you need. If you find it hard to catch adequate zzzs try a melatonin balance like GNC Melatonin Cap 3mg (60 Tabs).

Tweak: Snack smarter

It’s 3 o’clock and hunger pangs strike! Mid-day snack attack can wreck the hardest won battles. But that doesn’t mean you can’t snack between meals. “In fact research suggests eating two or three healthy snacks through the day boost your metabolism, improve weight control and reduces obesity,” says Setalvad. But note, there’s a right and a wrong way to snack. If your idea of a snack is a samosa or grilled cheese sandwich, think again. Ideally a snack should be no more than 100-200 calories. That’s an apple and ten almonds or two tablespoons of hummus with cucumber and carrot firewood, or a bowl of low fat yogurt sprinkled with sesame and flax seeds. The healthy fats in these snacks will keep you full till your next meal. At a crunch you could even have a well soup like Unived Fybur, Instant Health Soup, 5g Hi-Fiber -7 Sachetson the go.

Tweak: Replenish B vitamins

Winter isn’t the only time to be afraid about your vitamin intake. You should pay special attention to your B vitamin intake, even if you’re a non-vegetarian. “B vitamins like folate, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin B12, are essential for proper metabolic function, but get exhausted quickly and must be consumed daily,” says Setalvad. Besides if you like to party, you need to stock up because alcohol depletes B vitamins. recommends HealthVit B-Vit Vitamin B Complex With Bioton, Vitamin C & Folic Acid (60 Tablets). Vitamin B rich foods include fruits and leafy greens, complete grains, fish and eggs.Tweak:

Make Apple Cider Vinegar your BFF

The last few years have seen apple cider vinegar be tout a cure-all for everything from curing hiccups to treating diabetes, cancer, heart problems, high cholesterol and weight issues. But recent studies have shown the sour stuff can keep your blood sugar levels neutral. One study of people with type 2 diabetes (who were not on insulin) were given two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before bedtime and their glucose levels were lower by morning. Another study at Arizona State University found that insulin resistant people who drank a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water before eating a high carbohydrate meal had poorer blood sugar afterward. Scientists believe the anti-glycemic effect of the acid is the key. Give Nature’s Bounty ground-breaking Apple Cider Vinegar a try.

Tweak: Increase your probiotic intake

There’s no dearth of hype approximately probiotic rich foods from dahi and dark chocolate to pickles and kimchi. There’s enough scientific evidence to back this fad. As Setalvad says, Probiotics are an important part of a daily routine of healthy eating since they naturally ‘cleanse’ our bodies by eliminate toxins from our digestive tract. When our digestive tract is performance efficiently, so are our hormones and metabolism.Essentially, probiotics contain trillions of vigorous bacteria that help to stay your gut in top shape. If you’re too rushed to eat probiotic-rich foods, you could try a enhancement like GNC Probiotic Complex container 1Bn (100 Capsules).

You Should Never Do When Eating Chinese Food

If you've ever found yourself getting a number of serious side-eye from your waitress, check yourself: Were you completely ignoring Chinese foodstuff etiquette?

You know how some chefs consider it rude to salt your food at the table? Adding soy sauce to your rice offends Chinese cooks in the equivalent way. The idea is that they've already seasoned your food to perfection, so you shouldn't need to add whatever thing more.

Never cross your chopsticks on the table.
Chinese people associate anything in an "x" symbol with disagreement. By putting your chopsticks in that formation, you're in essence denying your company.

The good way to serve yourself and others is by investment the handle of the teapot in one hand and pressing the lid with the additional as you pour.

There's a correct way to use your chopsticks on a shared dish.
Turn them just about so the end that touches the food is not the one you've been putting into your mouth all night.

Don't stick your chopsticks in a straight line into your rice.

In China, it's tradition to stick burning anger into rice to honor the dead, so doing the same with your chopsticks is bad form.

Lift your cup with two hands when making a toast.
This tradition is more representative now than when it began centuries ago. Having your left hand on your cup in addition to your right would signify that you were without arms It's also seen as polite to grab a cup with two hand when it's handed to you.

Never flip a fish.

Chinese restaurant often have whole fish on the menu, but if you order one, beware of the specific way to polish it off. Once you eat one side of the fish, pull the clean out and go on eating it. Flipping it over symbolize the fishermen's boats capsizing.

Don't tap your chopsticks against your bowl.
It's how on the streets people in the country ask for food, and it's seen as impolite to do so at the table.

Never "pop" a soup dumpling.

Soup dumplings, or xiao long bao as they're call in China, aren't like pistachios: They're not meant to be eaten any number of creative ways. The correct - and polite - way to chow down is by lightly biting the skin of the dumpling and slurping the potage before consumption the rest of it.
